"To The Ends Of The Earth"
Missions began in God's heart long before He gave His only Son the mission of
redeeming the lost world unto Himself. As Christ prayed to His Father in John 17:18,
He passed that mission on to us.: "As you sent Me into the world, I have sent them
into the world." (NIV) This statement from Mission Mosaic reflects the spirit of
missions at First Baptist Church, Hendersonville. Annually, we are one of the leading contributors
to the Cooperative Program in the state of North Carolina. The church is involved in numerous mission activities which include:
Associational Missions - 3.5% of all contributions are given to further the
ministries of the Carolina Baptist Association.
Love In Action - Assistance is given to local families with a special emphasis
given at Christmastime.
Migrant Ministry - Food, clothing and transportation to church services are provided
to migrant workers in the area.

activities meeting local needs, providing statewide disaster relief, and participating
in one international project per year.

prayer, learning about missions, giving to missions, and participating in the work

Other local area ministry action programs include:
A church-wide mission trip is undertaken in the spring. Activities include church
construction, medical/dental assistance and Bible School for children. Offerings
through First Baptist Church provide the needed construction materials.
A youth choir mission trip is undertaken each summer. Youth high school mission
activities include a mission trip for students (drama), as well as a mission trip for
graduating seniors.
Over the years, individuals from First Baptist Hendersonville have felt God's call to
missions and have given their lives as career missionaries. Some are listed below
(with their birthdates) so that you may support them in prayer. Some, due to the areas in which they are ministering, are not able to be shown here. Please pray for
those in areas of religious persecution.
If you know of missionaries from our congregation who should be listed here,
please write to us.
